Brittney Monique Walker

Hola, hi! I’m Brittney Monique Walker, a Los Angeles native, now living in the center of the universe, Brooklyn, NY – yes I said it. I’m is a storyteller and communications specialist with more than a decade of experience bringing to life the messages, stories and missions of non-profit organizations, elected officials, small businesses and more. It all started at a CBS Radio affiliate in Los Angeles where I loved my work, but discovered the corporate life was not quite my speed. I learned that I wanted to be closer to the folks I cared most about and wanted to do work that seemed life changing. I became a reporter and the rest is history… in the making. These days I consult, host storytelling workshops, curate live events, work alongside some pretty dope people, living my best life in grad school and inconsistently publishing essays about my super adventurous life. I’m also an aspiring beekeeper, surfer (if you know a guy who can help, let me know) and I love to travel and the outdoors. Enjoy exploring the site! I look forward to meeting you.

RESEARCH & LEARNING

My research interests are in sexuality, the intersectionality of socio-political forces, culture and colonization on Black American sexuality, and the contemporary ways Black American folks are decolonizing sexuality.
