The Black Church is Complicit in Perpetuating Colonial Patriarchy, Violence against Black women will continue without a collective redress
Summary: The colonial project and its institution of patriarchy is a violent movement determined to restrict and regulate the bodies of non-white, non-heteronormal people. Through Christianity and its perpetuation of gender roles and hierarchies, it is my hypothesis that the Christian church reinscribes and justifies sexual and gender-based violence.

Brittney and two colleagues – Serita Eaton and Samiaya Bradford-Lathan are building a searchable database that helps The New School students, staff, faculty and alumni find colleagues with similar research interests, specifically related to or including Black studies. It’s called The Connect. We’re hoping this platform can scale for other groups on campus.
